Leadership Literacy 4 Life (LL4L)

For schools who want to work towards the better preparation of our future leaders, brought to your school by EnQPractice.com. Available to all schools from 01 July 2022.

How was LL4L developed?

LL4L is the result of a recently researched Doctor of Professional Practice study, carried out in New Zealand and South Africa in 2021, that aimed to better prepare all future leaders, earlier in their education. The study found that currently successful entrepreneurial leaders (who were navigating their businesses through the COVID-19 crisis at the time of the research), have high levels of self – awareness which leads to self – leadership and the effective leadership of others.

It was also shown that current student leadership structures within the traditional school structures are not translating well into future enterprise/entrepreneurial leadership roles which require a deeper understanding of different leadership styles. The research trialed an intervention course (LL4l) which showed that self – awareness, self – leadership and leadership of other skills can be effectively laid for students in their first year of high school.

How is LL4L delivered?

The intervention course is delivered completely on-line with a simple sign in process and navigation. All instructions will be sent to the school and on-line support is available from EnQPractice and Allcopy Publishers.

The course consists of eight modules that cover the three key areas of self – awareness, self – leadership and leadership of others, in modules of approximately 30 – 40 minutes each, that can be integrated into lesson times. This can be done once per week over a term or once per month, or over a longer period.

Each student signs onto the digital platform to complete the course on any device (with headphones as there are videos) and they can track their progress, record results and access additional resources as needed. Resource packs to support the learning process, are available both online and in hard copy if required.

Which age group is the material suited towards?

The research study showed that first high school students (ages 13 to 14) responded very well to the material and their levels of self – awareness, self – leadership and leadership of others increased after completing the LL4L trial intervention course. We intend to release additional courses for students of ages 15-16, and 17-18 to complement their LL4L experience within the next 12-18 months, to assist all students to retain and build on their leadership learning. All courses are continually updated means of the research feedback data, to ensure that all future leaders are better prepared for their future leadership roles.
