Dating all the way back to Hippocrates (460BC), it was noticed that there are different types of people in terms of how we respond to situations. These are known as surface traits. These are Emotional Intelligence traits that we can observe. They are different to source traits which are the deeper underlying traits such as IQ (Intelligence quotient) traits. More and more research tells us that the most successful people have a high EQ, and not necessarily a high IQ.

One of the key steps to beginning to develop our emotional intelligence, which is a cornerstone of leadership intelligence, is to develop our self-awareness. At EnQPractice we use an assessment called Circles of Empowerment (COE assessment) that has been specifically designed to assist you to identify your own communication style.

There are four communication styles in total. Your assessment results will show you your primary communication style and your secondary communication style.
